200 MW Solar Power Project at Khavda

NHPC Limited, a leading hydropower enterprise in India and a central public sector entity under the Ministry of Power, has successfully secured the bid to construct a 200 MW Solar Power Project in the 1,125 MW RE Park of Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd. (GSECL) located at Khavda in the Kachchh district of Gujarat

This project is projected to produce approximately 473 million units of electricity in its initial year of operation. Over a span of 25 years, the cumulative energy output is estimated to reach around 10,850 million units. NHPC will undertake the development of this project under a build-own-and-operate model, with an approximate development cost of Rs. 847 crores.
The e-reverse auction for this endeavor was facilitated by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited on March 2, 2024. Following this, the Letter of Intent was issued on March 14, 2024. The project has been secured at a competitive tariff rate of Rs. 2.66 per unit and is slated for completion within 18 months.
