6 most powerful bikes priced under Rs 2 lakh

Indian riders have always seeked performance at a budget. In recent years, there have been plenty of options to consider by two-wheeler manufacturers, especially under the Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom) budget.

Let us look at the six most powerful motorcycles available under the above-mentioned price.

Hero Mavrick 440

At the top of the list is the recently launched Hero Mavrick 440 with prices starting at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Hero’s latest flagship is powered by a 440cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine which is by far the largest displacement under the Rs 2 lakh budget. This unit is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and produces a peak output of 27 bhp and 36 Nm torque. However, it must be noted that the figure mentioned is only an introductory price for the base variant.

Jawa 42

Jawa offers the 42 at prices starting from Rs 1.96 lakh (ex-showroom) and it is the only model in parent company Classic Legends’ portfolio to be offered with the older 293cc liquid-cooled engine. This motor churns out 27 bhp and 27 Nm of peak torque while being paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Bajaj Dominar 250

The Dominar brand may not have set the sales charts on fire, but whoever has ridden them knows that they are genuinely good motorcycles. The Dominar 250 borrows its powertrain from the quarter-litre KTM range but it is significantly cheaper than its Austrian cousins. Priced at Rs 1.78 lakh (ex-showroom), the 249cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine produces 26.63 bhp and 23.5 Nm of torque.

Suzuki Gixxer/Gixxer SF 250

Suzuki offers the 250cc Gixxer in two forms- naked and faired (SF), which are priced at Rs 1.89 lakh and Rs 1.94 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively. Both bikes share identical mechanicals, powered by a 249cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that produces 26.13 bhp and 22.2Nm of peak torque. This motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Suzuki Gixxer 250

Hero Karizma XMR

The reincarnated Hero Karizma also finds itself on this list. With prices starting at Rs 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom), the Karizma XMR is powered by a 210cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that pumps out 25.15 bhp and 20.4 Nm of peak torque. This motor is linked to a 6-speed gearbox.

KTM Duke 200

KTM offers Duke 200 at a price of Rs 1.96 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 199.5cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which delivers 24.67 bhp and 19.3 Nm of torque. This power mill is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
