76 government schools will remain closed

The Patna District Administration on Tuesday issued a circular that 76 government schools in rural areas in the district will remain closed till August 31, as the water level of the Ganges has crossed the danger mark. It is further said that this decision has been taken for the safety of children and teachers. According to the circular, Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh said that the water level of the Ganga river is continuously rising, due to which a total of 76 government schools in 8 blocks of the district will remain closed till August 31.

Recently a teacher was swept away

The Bihar government recently authorized the District Magistrates to decide to close the school in case of a flood-like situation in their respective jurisdiction. This order came soon after the incident of a government school teacher near Patna falling into the Ganga river and being swept away in the strong current. Let us tell you that a teacher was swept away in the Ganga River while boarding a boat at Nasirganj Ghat.

According to a statement by the Patna District Administration, “The Ganga river is flowing above the danger mark at Gandhi Ghat in Patna till 8 am on Sunday. Similarly, the Ganga River is flowing above the danger mark in Hathidah and Sripalpur.
