At the 47th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries held in Mumbai, Chairman Mukesh Ambani laid out an exciting roadmap for the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) ventures. The highlight of the event was the announcement of Reliance’s plan to launch its own AI program, named Jio Brain, with the goal of integrating AI into every Indian’s life.

Mukesh Ambani revealed that Reliance will establish an AI data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, dedicated to Jio Brain. This strategic move is part of Reliance’s broader vision to enhance AI accessibility across the nation. Additionally, the company plans to roll out the Jio AI Cloud this Diwali, offering users a welcome gift of 100GB of free cloud storage. Ambani’s son, Akash Ambani, detailed the upcoming Jio AI Cloud, set to launch during Diwali. This cloud service will include new features for Jio Home users, such as enhanced AI capabilities for the Jio Set-Top Box. The introduction of “Hello Jio” will facilitate easier use of the set-top box through AI assistance, positioning Jio as a direct competitor to platforms like Alexa.

In his address, Mukesh Ambani advocated for a “2G-free India,” highlighting that Jio has already upgraded 50% of 2G users to 3G. He emphasized Jio’s extensive reach across the country and its status as the largest patent holder in India, with over 350 patents related to 5G and 6G technologies. Jio has successfully introduced affordable 5G phones, connecting 130 million customers to 5G within two years.
