Faisal Malik, aka ‘Prahlad Cha’, Speaks About Production Company He Started With Anurag Kashyap: ‘Ladai Toh Rehti Hai…’ – Exclusive

The ‘Panchayat’ fame actor Faisal Malik, aka ‘Prahlad Cha’ has become a household name. ‘Prahlad Chacha has successfully made his mark in the hearts of the audience and it is always a delight to watch him on screen. Speaking to India.com exclusively, Faisal Malik opened about his love for cinema, his experience in bollywood, the production house he started with Anurag Kashyap, and a lot more.
Malik comes bearing an experience of several years as an actor, a producer. The ‘ Tirbhuvan Mishra CA Topper’ actor has also opened up about his fare share of struggles in the industry and the little anecdotes that accompany with it in several other interviews. However, Malik was never deterred by the obstacles. When asked about what keeps him going in the face of adversities, Malik answered, “Motivation yahi hai ki abhi toh kaam karna bahut bacha hua hai, abhi toh kiya hi kam hai. Cinema jise kehte hai, isiki sath rahenge hamesha. Aaj iss form hai, kal dusre form hai. Par karunga isike aas pass ke kam jisme mai hun kyunki mujhe picturein bahut pasand. Toh yahi motivation rehti hai ki kuch acha kaam dekhiye or sochiye ki kisi din aisehi acha kam kahin or ho raha ho or aap uska part hon.” ( The motivation is to keep working in the field of cinema in any form. But I will keep on working around cinema only because I love films. Hence, this is the motivation to keep exploring good work and looking out to be a part of something good in making.)
Taking the conversation further, we asked about the time when he started his production company with the famous director Anurag Kashyap which he agreed to being is still there.”Who toh rehta hai ki koi bhi film banane ke liye ghusiye as a producer toh ek ladai toh rehti hai ab chahe who choti si film ho ya badi si film ho. Toh uska ek war hota and uss war mai apko chalna hota hai. Ek khatam hota hai toh aap rukte nahi dusre chakkar mai lag jate hain. Toh yeh never ending hai. And mai abhi yeh kar raha hun, kuch chize ke peeche laga hua hun ki pitch kar raha hun banana ke liye hojaiga toh banaunga. Kuch kuch chizen hold pe hai, kuch ruki hui hain, kuch kuch lag raha ki ek dum upset ho jayega…toh kabhi kabhi hota hai jo hume acha lage woh shayad dusre kisi or ko nahi lage. Yeh toh chalta rehta hai but ideally toh dil toh karta hai banaye ye sab, banana ka hai.” (See, that is always there when you decide to make a film as a producer, a battle is always there be it a big or small film irrespective. So, it is a like a war and you have to be a part of it. When it ends, you don’t stop but get into something else. This is never ending. even I am trying work on things, pitch stories; some are on hold, and it is not necessary that what you like someone else will agree too. But, all this keeps on going and I want make films.)

Faisal Malik on Getting His Due in Bollywood
Coming to the city of dreams, Mumbai, is not a joyride for everyone. The ones trying to find their own grove often get it the hard way. After years of working in the film industry, our very own Prahlad Chacha is still one humble man who believes in taking life as it comes. When asked about getting put in a box with iconic characters, with utmost humility he said, “Mai itna serious hi nahi hota insab chizon ke liye. Yeh bhi ho rha hai yeh bhi dekhenge, agla hoga agla dekhenge. Yeh picture ki duniya hai dost, jo abhi accha lag rha fir bhul jaate jab tak kuch naya acha nahi hota.” (I don’t take it very seriously. Today this is happening, tomorrow something else will. In this world of cinema my friend, people like it now and then forget until something better comes tomorrow.)
He explained how new things keep on happening and changing with time. About getting his due, he does not dwell on it alot and takes challenges and achievements as they come. Faisal believes in doing good work in cinema.
He will next be seen in the film ‘Pad Gaye Pange’ alongside Samarpan Singh, Rrajesh Yadav, Rajpal Yadav, Rajesh Sharma and others. The comedy-drama is set to release in theatres on August 30.
