Indian Bank Recruitment 2024: Recruitment for 300 Local Bank Officer posts, apply like this

Indian Bank has started the recruitment process for Local Bank Officer posts in the Junior Management Grade (JMG) scale. The application process to fill a total of 300 vacancies in five states will start on August 31 and end on September 2. The vacancies are provisional and subject to change depending on the actual needs of the bank.

The selected candidates will have to undergo a probation period of two years from the date of joining. Candidates will be posted in that state for the first 12 years of their service or till they are promoted to SMGS-IV grade, whichever is earlier.

Educational Qualification

The applicant must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

Proficiency in the local language (reading, writing, and speaking) of the selected state is mandatory. A local language proficiency test will be conducted as part of the selection process, and failure to qualify will result in disqualification.

Age Criteria

The age limit of the candidates should be between 20 years to 30 years.

Pay Scale and Benefits

Scale 1 Salary Structure: Rs. 48,480, Rs. 2000/7, Rs. 62,480, Rs. 2,340/2, Rs. 67,160, Rs. 2680/7, Rs. 85,920.

The selected candidate will also get additional benefits of DA, CCA, HRA, leased accommodation, leave rent concession, medical aid, hospitalization benefits, retirement benefits, and other facilities as per bank and industry rules.

Experience-based pay hike

Candidates with prior experience as officers in scheduled commercial banks may get up to two increments in pay depending on the alignment of their previous job profile with the role of Scale-I Generalist Officer in Indian Bank. However, candidates from subsidiaries of scheduled commercial banks are not eligible for this increment. Previous experience will not count towards service seniority.

Selection Process

The selection process of the applications comprises of written/online examination followed by an interview. The written test will be of three hours duration consisting of 155 questions carrying 200 marks. There will be a penalty of 1/4 marks for wrong answers but no penalty will be levied for unanswered questions.

Candidates shortlisted in the written test will be called for an interview in the ratio of three times the vacancies for unreserved categories and five times the vacancies for reserved categories.

Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay the application fee as follows:

Rs. 175 (inclusive of GST) for SC/ST/PwBD candidates (Intimation charges only)
Rs. 1,000 (inclusive of GST) for all other candidates
