140 Trains Cancelled As Torrential Rains Create Havoc In Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, IMD Issues Warning
Telangana, Andhra Pradesh Rain Fury: Incessant torrential rains continue to lash Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, leading to the deaths of several people. Heavy rain battered several parts of both states on Sunday, disrupting railway and road traffic. Railway tracks have been inundated with rainwater, leading to the cancellation and diversion of as many as 140 trains. Severe waterlogging has also been reported on major routes, leading to traffic congestion in several areas of both states. In either territory, swollen rivers have caused thousands of people to seek safety in emergency shelters, facilitated by collaborative efforts from national and regional disaster response teams.

The Secunderabad-based South Central Railway Zone, which covers the Vijayawada Division, called off 140 trains and changed the paths of 97 others this past Sunday, according to PTI reports.
The South Central Railway recently broke the news: around 21 train services have suffered disruptions. List of few trains cancelled range from the Chennai Central-Chhapra train to the New Delhi-Chennai Central trains and vice versa. Unexpectedly, the course of a multitude of trains, including those from Tirupati to Secunderabad, SMVT Bengaluru to Patliputra, and Mannargudi to Bhagat Ki Kothi, plus six more, have been altered. Not stopping there, a further two trains – one from SMVB Bengaluru to Danapur, the other returning – have been redirected because of high waters at Rayanapadu, according to the bulletin released by SCR.
On Sunday, the South Central Railway (SCR) zone, including the Vijayawada Division, cancelled as many as 140 trains and diverted 97 more.
