Delhi blast: Huge blast reported in Prashant Vihar area, Fire tenders on the spot
New Delhi: A low intensity explosion was heard on Thursday near a PVR in Prashant Vihar area of Delhi’s Rohini region. The Delhi Fire Service received the call regarding the blast at 11.48 am, as reported by PTI. According to the police, a three wheeler driver sustained minor injuries. The entire area has been cordoned off. An official of Delhi Fire services said, “We received a call regarding blast in Prashant Vihar area at 11.48 am. We rushed four fire tenders on the spot. Our teams are following rest of the details. ”
A bomb detection team, Delhi Police Crime Branch, dog squad and Special cell had reached the spot later. The Delhi Police, the National probe Agency (NIA), and the National Security Guard (NSG) conducted a comprehensive probe after an investigation found evidence of low explosives close to the explosion site.
A police source told Times Of India that the Thursday morning blast is similar to the explosion occurred outside of a CRPF school. On October 20, a similar blast was reported near the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) school in the Prashant Vihar area of Delhi’s Rohini region which damaged nearby properties, while no injuries were reported.
Further information is awaited as the investigation of the case is still underway.
