UP shocker: Addicted online gamer kills mother for repeated scoldings; arrested
A 24-year-old man, identified as Himanshu Singh, was arrested by Uttar Pradesh police for allegedly killing his mother in the Fatehpur district.
The accused committed the heinous crime as his mother scolded him repeatedly for playing games due to which was burdened with debt.
Man kills his mother in the absence of his father
“The man killed his mother while his father was on a trip to Chitrakoot. He later carried the body of the deceased in a tractor trolley and disposed of it nearby riverside,” a senior police officer said. The horrific incident came to light after the boy’s father filed a police complaint accusing his son of killing his wife.
The boy’s father has been identified as Roshan Singh. On the other hand, the deceased is Prabha Singh. It is worth mentioning here that the Singh family is a resident of Adhauli village of Fatehpur district. Adhauli village comes under the limit of Dhata police station.
Accused was in debt
Due to his addiction to playing games online, accused Himanshu was in a debt of around Rs 4 lakh. The formal complaint was filed by Himanshu’s father on Friday. Based on his complaint, an FIR was filed under relevant Sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the accused was arrested the next day.
Neighbours gave important clues to the police
“During the investigation, Roshan’s neighbour revealed that they had seen Himanshu carrying something on a tractor trolley on the day when his mother went missing,” another senior police officer said, adding that the accused confessed to the crime later.
Accused stole his mother’s jewellery
“On being asked, the accused said that he had stolen jewellery of his mother as he wanted to repay the debt. As he was caught, his parents used to scold him every day due to which he was frustrated and committed the crime,” the officer revealed.
