The Kerala Story OTT Release EXCLUSIVE! Adah Sharma Says ‘2 Days Before Release I Thought Film Will Be Banned’

When Adah Sharma starrer The Keral Story released in the cinema halls, little did anyone know that the film would rake in big moolah and become the talk of the town.

The Sudipto Sen directorial registered its name in history books as it became the highest-grossing film led by an actress.

As the hard-hitting film premiered on OTT, Adah Sharma spoke about the success, her thoughts when The Kerala Story premiered in theatres and a lot more.

MY SUCCESS IS PEOPLE’S SUCCESS

I will be very honest. Adah Sharma’s success feels very personal as she has carved a niche for herself without any Godfather in the industry. The Bollywood diva also believes that audiences resonate with her as they believe ‘her success is their success’.

“That’s one of the nicest compliments. A lot of people tell me, ‘My success is their success’. I cannot ask for anything more. That’s how The Kerala Story worked. They called it their film, watched it and promoted it. That’s the best thing an actor can ask for. The best part is The Kerala Story is the highest female-led film in India.,” she quipped.

I reminded her that her debut film 1920 created ripples at the box office and also set the TRP charts on fire when it premiered on television. She beamed with joy as her first project was mentioned in the interview.

“People who didn’t watch back then, have enjoyed 1920 now. There was no market for horror films. I am glad I could be a part of such a project,” she said.
