IPL 2024: ‘Dhoni, Dhoni’ chants in Tamil Nadu college thrills ‘guest’ Shivam Dube
India all-rounder Shiva Dube was left in awe when the campus crowd at Vellore Institute of Technology, Tamil Nadu, started chanting MS Dhoni’s name.
The 30-year-old Chennai Super Kings player was called to the college as a chief guest for an event.
Dube was invited as a guest at VIT, which took an unexpected turn when the all-rounder began discussing his IPL franchise, Chennai Super Kings. As soon as Dube started speaking about CSK, the campus crowd began chanting the name of the team’s skipper and long-standing crowd favourite, MS Dhoni.
Upon seeing the response from the crowd, Dube also went on to assure the crowd that he would share the moment with Dhoni when he meets the CSK skipper.
Dube’s recent performances in the national colours have garnered a lot of praise for the explosive batter which was mostly recently showcased during India’s T20 series against Afghanistan.
In the first two matches of the Afghanistan T20I series, Dube showcased his brilliance with two unbeaten half-centuries. His first notable performance occurred in Mohali, where he guided India to a 6-wicket victory with a composed innings of 60 runs off 40 balls. Subsequently, in the Indore match, he smashed a remarkable 63 off 32 balls, contributing significantly to India’s second consecutive 6-wicket triumph over Afghanistan.
