José Antonio Rueda outpaced David Alonso in Moto3 tests at Jerez

After David Alonso led on the previous two days, it was José Antonio Rueda who finished with the fastest time in the Moto3 tests at Jerez de la Frontera – which concluded this Friday.

It’s worth noting that 14 riders clocked times below the official lap record of the circuit.

It was in the second session of the final day that Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) set the best time of the week, with a lap of 1m43.276s. With this, he beat Alonso (CFMoto Aspar) by 0.233s in the combined standings of the day, but the time set by the Colombian yesterday was only 39 milliseconds slower than the benchmark established today by Rueda.

Ivan Ortolá (MT Helmets-MSi/KTM) and his teammate Ryusei Yamanaka finished fourth and fifth respectively, while Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3) completed the top five.

Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) was sixth, more than half a second off the pace. The last session had only 13 riders on track, but there was still one rider who improved – Tatchakorn Buasri (Honda Team Asia), who finished 23rd in the combined table on Friday
