Fake godman and team rapes 17 girls on promise of raining money in Thane
In a shocking bust, Thane Crime Branch Unit 1 cracked open a disturbing sex racket orchestrated by a fake godman, Yusuf Baba, and his accomplices, raping young girls and women in the guise of a divine money shower ritual.
The nefarious operation came to light when a 15-year-old girl went missing from Rabodi, sparking an investigation that unravelled a web of exploitation and abuse.
The accused godman and his team lured their victims with promises of financial windfalls with his ‘divine’ power, coercing them into participating in rituals that culminated in sexual assault. The harrowing details emerged during the interrogation of the rescued minor girl, shedding light on the heinous crimes committed by the perpetrators. A case of kidnapping under section 363 IPC (punishment for kidnapping) was filed by the police.
Aslam Khan and Salim Shaikh were apprehended on February 25, leading to the subsequent arrest of the mastermind behind the depraved scheme, Saheblal Wazir Shaikh, alias Yusuf Baba. The investigation revealed a chilling modus operandi where victims were coerced into nude rituals under the pretext of attracting money showers through supernatural means.
“After the minor was traced we also found that another woman was a victim of such a scam. Acting on gathered information, we arrested Aslam Khan, 54, and Salim Shaikh, 45, on February 25.
