Amid fear of AI taking jobs, new study reveals that AI can actually improve relationships at work

While employees across the globe express concern about AI replacing human jobs, a new study has revealed a different perspective.

It claims that AI is actually assisting employees and enhancing their work experience.

According to the latest study by HP titled the Work Relationship Index, an increasing number of workers around the world are currently struggling with burnout, heavy workloads, and overwhelming stress. Amidst this increasing workload, AI is supporting them in managing their tasks and alleviating work-related stress.

The study, surveying over 15,600 respondents across 12 countries, including India, found that despite low morale in workplaces worldwide, employees believe AI could help them deal with these issues.

“AI represents a significant opportunity to transform work dynamics and unlock a more positive and productive environment for all,” stated Dave Shull, President of HP Workforce Solutions at HP Inc. He added, “To foster greater understanding and acceptance of AI, and ensure employees know how to benefit from it, business leaders must take the initiative to educate employees on AI’s potential and spearhead its effective integration.”

Increase in workload

According to the study only 27 percent of knowledge workers surveyed acknowledged having a healthy relationship with their work.

Simultaneously around 58 percent of working professionals who were served reported that their expectations withwork have increased over the past three years. This trend is particularly significant in growing economies, where 71 percent of workers feel this way, compared to 50 percent in mature economies.
