Tata Motors Sanand Plant Produces 1 Million+ Vehicles Since 2010 – New Milestone
Tata Motors recently celebrated the rollout of the 1 millionth car from its Sanand facility. This achievement not only marks a significant milestone in the automaker’s history but in the Indian automobile history as well.
Speaking about Tata Motors’ manufacturing plant in Sanand, it was opened back in 2010, and has since been the beacon of progress for the automaker. The Sanand Plant is spread over 1,100 acres and employs more than 6,000 people directly and indirectly.
The Tata Motors’ Sanand plant is an advanced manufacturing facility equipped with advanced car manufacturing process shops including a paint shop, weld shop, press line, powertrain shop, and assembly line.
Furthermore, the Sanand manufacturing plant is designed from the ground up to be very flexible. This manufacturing plant now produces multiple models including the likes of Tata Tiago, Tata Tigor, and XPRES-T EV.
To make manufacturing efficient, the company has integrated lean process management systems and flexible manufacturing lines as well. By implementing this approach at the Sanand facility, Tata Motors is ensuring 100 per cent asset management and utilisation.
Also, emphasis on technological advancements and innovation at the plant has enhanced production capabilities and product reliability, ensuring that the vehicles produced meet stringent quality standards.
Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., expressed his pride in the milestone.
