Sennheiser Accentum Wireless Headphones Review: Good Battery And ANC At Budget
Sennheiser, a brand known for quality audio, has just expanded its Accentum series with the launch of the Accentum Wireless headphones in India.
Priced at Rs 11,990, these mid-range over-ears aim to bridge the gap between affordable and feature-rich options in the market. However, do they live up to the Sennheiser legacy, or do they fall short of expectations? Let’s delve into all the aspects to help you decide if the Accentum Wireless is the right fit for your listening needs.
Sennheiser Accentum Wireless Review: Design and Build
While the Accentum Wireless might not win any awards for groundbreaking aesthetics, it boasts a comfortable and reasonably well-built design. The sturdy headband feels reassuringly solid, featuring plush padding that distributes weight evenly, ensuring extended wear without discomfort. And yes, it borrows the design and feel from the Accentum Plus Wireless headphones that launched last month in India. Compared to the cheaper Sony WH-CH720N, the Accentum’s build quality shines through, with sturdier materials and larger earpads.
The earcups, while swivelling horizontally, don’t fold inwards, making them less compact for storage or travel. Additionally, the lack of a carrying case, even a basic pouch, is a surprising omission at this price point.
The Accentum Wireless features four physical buttons on the right earcup for easy navigation between music, volume, calling, and ANC. The 3 adjoined buttons are easily accessible even when you are wearing them, though it will take you time to adapt and get used to accessing just the button you wish to press.
Sennheiser Accentum Wireless Review: Controls and Features
The Accentum Wireless prioritises functionality over aesthetics when it comes to controls. Physical buttons on the right earcup allow for easy access to volume control, playback functions, and call management. These buttons, though functional, are made of plastic, reflecting the headphones’ focus on practicality over premium materials.
Despite the price tag, features like Bluetooth Multipoint connectivity and clear voice calls with wind noise reduction are welcome additions. The 50-hour battery life is another highlight, rivalling even premium models like Sony WH-1000XM5 and the Bose QuietComfort 45. This impressive figure translates to days of uninterrupted listening, making the Accentum Wireless a suitable companion for long journeys or extended listening sessions.
Sennheiser Accentum Wireless Review: Noise Cancellation
The Accentum Wireless delivers a satisfying and consistent noise-cancelling experience. The headphones effectively dampen a wide range of ambient noise, like the humming of traffic, providing a peaceful listening environment. While not achieving complete noise elimination, they significantly reduce external distractions, allowing you to focus on your music or calls.
