Ramadan 2024: You Can Skip Fasting, But These Mistakes Will Not Complete Your Prayer

The holy month of Ramadan, which is very important for Muslims around the world, is currently ongoing. During this month, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, worship Allah, and participate in spiritual reflection, as well as giving alms for charity.

This ninth month of the Islamic calendar is called the leader of all the months. In this holy month of blessings and mercy, people of the Muslim community observe very strict and severe fasting for 30 days in the name of Allah and offer prayers five times a day.

According to Islamic beliefs, Allah has made fasting in the month of Ramadan a duty for every able-bodied Muslim. But do you know that the actual rules of fasting with faith and love are different? If these measures are not observed during fasting, then it is believed that the fasting done may not be accepted. In the holy month of Ramadan, let us tell you about the real rules of fasting.

According to the Quran Sharif, Allah has made fasting during Ramadan obligatory for all able-bodied believers. Allah has imposed these duties on his believers so that they can become pious and closer to Allah. Therefore, it is the duty of every Muslim boy, man, and woman to fast during Ramadan.

Exemptions in Ramadan
According to the rules of Ramadan, people engaged in physical labor and those who are sick or suffering from some kind of ailment are allowed to abstain from fasting in the holy month of Ramadan. Such people can keep the fast after Ramadan. It is said that the person who has faith in Allah and observes the days of Ramadan sincerely with hope, Allah will forgive all their past sins. The month of Ramadan is a month of great mercy and blessings. Therefore, all Muslims must fast in this month.

Things to be avoided along with food and drinks during Ramadan
It is said that Allah has directly given instructions regarding observing the fast-duringuring Ramadan. At the same time, he has also given instructions regarding things that should be avoided during fasting. As we all know, while fasting, a person avoids eating and drinking during the entire day.

But according to Islam, Allah has said that there are people who, while observing the fast, end up achieving nothing spiritually except staying hungry and thirsty. Such people, despite observing the Ramadan fast diligently, remain hungry and thirsty as they are not able to escape from their past sins, lies, and crimes because they never acknowledge them, nor do they ask for forgiveness for them. In such a situation, their fasting remains empty, and their prayers remain incomplete and do not bring them any kind of rewards or blessings.

Ramadan fasting is the observance of these rules
According to the rules of Ramadan, the real fasting in this holy month involves a person abstaining from haraam things. Just as one should avoid eating and drinking during the entire day, similarly, a person should not indulge in negative behaviour.

Therefore, during fasting, one should not lie to anyone and try to be truthful all the time. One should keep one’s vision right and should not gossip or say bad things about anyone. In other words, one should not entertain ill will against anyone and keep one’s heart and mind clean and devoid of any negative thoughts. This also means one must keep away from hearing bad things about people. In other words, one has to be careful about what they hear about others. In this way, all the body parts of a person are not used to do anything that is wrong or prohibited under Islam. This way one is able to keep their bodies clean and pure, which is the first step towards keeping their hearts clean and devoted towards Allah. This according to Islam constitutes the real fasting.
