Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 to power affordable smartphones with AI features
Qualcomm is here with its latest offering, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which is specifically built for the affordable flagship lineup of smartphones.
With this new chipset, Qualcomm promises various high-quality features, including powerful AI capabilities, advanced connectivity, and top-notch sound quality. As per the company, this chipset will surely enhance the user experience.
While sharing the news of this new release, Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile handsets at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., said, “With capabilities including on-device generative AI and advanced photography features, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is designed to enhance user experiences, fostering creativity and productivity in their daily lives.”
So overall, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 has a lot to offer. Qualcomm has partnered with
smartphone manufacturers such as Honor, iQOO, Realme, Redmi, and Xiaomi to integrate the new chipset. We might see the first smartphone featuring the chipset as early as March itself.
Specifications of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3
Now coming to some of its specifications, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset supports on-device Generative AI for content creation even without internet connectivity. It also features a powerful processor configuration, which includes one primary core reaching speeds of up to 3.0 GHz, four performance cores up to 2.8 GHz, and three efficiency cores up to 2.0 GHz. This will allow for seamless multitasking and fast data access.
For connectivity, the chipset is equipped with the Snapdragon X70 5G Modem, which delivers fast speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps and also supports the latest Wi-Fi 7 standards. Furthermore, it supports high-resolution displays and refresh rates of up to 144Hz as well.
Lastly, if you are a photography fan, then this chipset also has various camera configurations, with resolutions ranging up to 200MP. It will also use AI for enhanced camera capabilities that can give users improved image quality and optimised settings.
