Newborn’s body found dumped in dustbin in posh housing society in Noida

The body of an infant was found in a dustbin in an upscale housing society in Noida in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Wednesday.

The identity of the newborn is being ascertained and those behind the cruel act are also being traced, they added. The body was found in the basement of a tower in ATS One Hamlet in Noida Sector 104 on Tuesday.

Security officer spotted infant’s body

The body was spotted by the security officer of the residential society in the garbage collection area around 2.30 pm on Tuesday. He later alerted the police who reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem examination, the result of which is awaited.

“On Tuesday, Ravendra Mishra, the security officer of ATS One Hamlet, informed the local police about the body of a newborn being found in a dustbin in the second basement of Tower 7 of the housing society,” a police spokesperson said.

“After being alerted, officials of the local Sector 39 police station rushed to the spot and inspected the area, after which the body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem after due legal proceedings,” the spokesperson said.
