Delhi Police serves notice to Arvind Kejriwal over ‘MLAs poaching’ claims

Sources told India Today that the crime branch has asked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief to reply to the notice within three days. The police have asked Kejriwal to prove the allegations of poaching levelled by him. The notice also asks the Chief Minister to name the seven MPs of the Aam Aadmi Party who were approached for poaching.

A commotion unfolded at the Chief Minister’s official residence earlier in the day when the crime branch team arrived again to serve him the notice to join the probe.

The team led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP)-level officer insisted that they will hand over the notice to Arvind Kejriwal in person as it is on his name, while officials at the Chief Minister’s residence said they are ready to take the notice and give a receiving.

However, the officials at Kejriwal’s residence alleged the police were not serving them the notice and had brought the media with them. They also said that the police had come “just to defame them”.

Meanwhile, sources within the crime branch said they wanted to hand over the notice to the Chief Minister personally.
