BYD Launches Enhanced Atto 3 Electric SUV: Features Larger Touchscreen and Additional Color Variants
Chinese electric vehicle company Build Your Dreams has launched a new version of its electric SUV, the BYD Atto 3. This updated 2024 model has been introduced overseas and comes with a range of new features. Additionally, the updated model of the BYD Atto 3 has received some cosmetic improvements, while its mechanical features remain the same as the current model. The vehicle now comes in a new Cosmos Black color, which gives it a more high-end look, as reported by Autocar. This model also gets a new gloss black finish on the chrome window surround, and the D-pillar insert is now in gloss black as well. The badge on the tailgate of the BYD Atto 3 has been reduced to just the BYD logo.
Additionally, the electric SUV now gets new 18-inch alloy wheels with wider 235/50 R18 tires instead of the previous 215/55 R18 tires. These changes were made in response to customer feedback in international markets regarding the tire’s grip. The interior layout of the 2024 Atto 3 remains unchanged, but the main update is the new infotainment screen. The model now uses the larger 15.6-inch touchscreen system from the new Seal EV, replacing the 12.8-inch unit in the current model.
The screen retains its rotating feature, allowing it to be used in both landscape and portrait modes. The cabin also features a new dark blue and black color scheme, giving the interior a fresh look. The 2024 Atto 3 now includes a number of software upgrades from BYD, including ‘Intelligent Start’ technology that allows the driver to start the vehicle by pressing the brake pedal. The updated infotainment unit now supports Amazon Music, web browser, karaoke function and BYD App Store. Other upgrades include a thicker sunroof shade, improved voice recognition software, quieter navigation and proximity alarm alerts, and a new anti-theft alarm sound.
The interior ambient lighting is also synchronized with Spotify songs being played. The 2024 Atto 3 retains its mechanical configuration, relies on the E-Platform 3.0 with a 49.9 kWh blade battery, offering an estimated range of 345 km on a single charge. The electric motor has a maximum torque of 310 Nm and 201 bhp. In international markets, a larger 60.5 kWh battery pack is also available, offering a claimed range of 420 km (WLTP) on a single charge. The India-spec version has a range of 521 km (ARAI-approved). The right-hand-drive 2024 BYD Atto 3 is currently available for sale in Japan and Singapore, with plans to gradually introduce it to more markets around the world. The Atto 3 is already on sale in India, and the updated model is expected to arrive later this year, though the company has yet to confirm any details. The price of BYD Atto 3 in India is more than 30 lakh rupees.
