IPL 2024: Shubman Gill Expresses Frustration After Dismissal by Yash Thakur; Watch Video
In the ongoing IPL clash between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, Shubman Gill’s frustration was palpable as he failed to capitalize on his start at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) won the toss and elected to bat first, setting a competitive total of 163/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite a shaky start, Marcus Stoinis’ impressive half-century, along with contributions from KL Rahul (33), Nicholas Pooran (32*), and Ayush Badoni (20), propelled LSG to a respectable score.
Promising Start for GT
In response, Gujarat Titans (GT) began promisingly, with Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan adding 54 runs for the first wicket during the powerplay. However, Gill, the GT skipper, struggled to accelerate his innings, managing only 19 runs off 20 balls before being dismissed by Yash Thakur on the last ball of the powerplay. Thakur’s full and straight delivery led Gill to attempt a flick shot, but he missed the ball completely, resulting in his stumps being shattered. Gill’s frustration was evident as he let out a loud roar while leaving the field.
