New-Gen Maruti Suzuki Swift India Launch Expected in May 2024
Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the updated Swift in the Indian market soon. It has been learned that the hatchback is likely to go on sale next month. However, the company is yet to share a green signal about it. As the launch neared, the company began putting more effort into testing the vehicle. The updated model has been captured several times during the testing phase, showing some of the upcoming changes and the overall road appearance.
What to expect?
Going by all the details and spy images shared on the internet, it is clear that the upcoming version will share the same style statement as the current model. However, some impressive updates are expected to come from inside and outside.
Features highlights
It is speculated that the updated hatchback will get a revised front grill, updated bumper and an uplifted front fascia, making it bolder and better than before. It will be treated with a trending LED headlight setup, the same taillight as the current version and attractive LED DRLs with fog lamps at the front.
Middle and top trims
The base variant may lack the above features. However, the mid and top trims will come with some stronger features. These trims will be equipped with the same alloy wheels as the international spec, featuring chrome treatment from the front and rear profiles. The 2024 India-bound Swift will have a completely black C-pillar and a reverse parking camera will be installed on the boot, which will eat up the bumper spot this time. To make it safer, it will get six airbags, rear three-point seatbelt, speed warning, ABS with EBD, parking sensors etc.
Engine and Power
As far as the engine is concerned, it will be powered by a Z series 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine, replacing the current K series 1.2-litre unit. It will generate the same power figures as the K12 engine, delivering a maximum output of 90hp and 113Nm of peak torque.
