IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad Set New Record for Highest Total in IPL History – Here’s the Full List
Sunrisers Hyderabad do it again! In a matter of three weeks, the SRH batsmen not only set the record for the highest total ever in IPL and franchise cricket history, but broke their record with yet another jaw-dropping display of power hitting, this time at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. After their 277-run effort against Mumbai Indians on March 27, the SRH batsmen on Monday smashed 287 runs against a hapless Royal Challengers Bangalore bowling attack. Thus breaking the record for the highest total in the history of the IPL and the franchise league.
The effort was led by Travis Head who scored a 39-ball 100 – the fourth fastest in IPL history; This was followed by Henrik Klaassen’s 67 off 31 balls and handy cameos from Aiden Markram (32 off 17 balls), Abdul Samad (37 off 10 balls) and Abhishek Sharma (34 off 22 balls). For RCB, it was another incredible bowling performance with their foreign recruit Reece Topley returning 1/68 in his four overs – the third worst bowling figures in IPL history, while four RCB bowlers scored 50-plus runs – the first in IPL history. SRH eventually finished with 287/3 – the second-highest total in T20 cricket. There were 22 sixes in this innings – the most in an IPL innings.
