World Heritage Day is celebrated every year on 18 April. Its objective is to promote all the heritage, history, art, and culture of the world. Our country India is full of history and art literature. There are 42 UNESCO World Heritage Sites here. On this World Heritage Day, we will tell you about some heritage sites in the country that not many tourists have been able to reach to date.

1. Champaner-Pavagarh Archaeological Park, Gujarat

This archaeological park is present near the Panchmahal mountains of Gujarat which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Here you will get to see a unique confluence of history and art. Along with this, here you will get a glimpse of Hindu and Muslim architecture, the best example of which is the Jama Masjid present here. This is the largest mosque in Gujarat. Here you can see the beautiful view of Vadodara from the hills of Pavagadh.

2. Mattancherry Palace in Kochi, Ernakulam

Mattancherry Palace of Kerala is also called the Dutch Palace. The houses here are built according to the architecture of Kerala and Europe. In the market of Mattancherry, you will get a chance to taste the authentic food of Karel, of which appam and fish curry are the most popular.

3. Sheikh Chilli’s Tomb, Haryana

This tomb of Sheikh Chilli, located in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana, is an important part of the World Heritage. This tomb is built according to Parsi architecture. People of every religion come here to pray. Being a part of the World Heritage, this tomb is given special care. You will find many things for home decoration in the local market here.

4.Pattadakallu, Karnataka

This world heritage site situated on the banks of the Malaprabha river belongs to the Chalukya Empire. It is also called Raktapura, it is located in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka. This is a group of different monuments which are famous for their archaeological importance. Among the historical monuments here, there are nine Hindu and one Jain temples.

5. Kakatiya Rudreshwara (Ramappa) Temple, Telangana

Kakatiya Rudreshwara (Ramappa) Temple is an ancient temple included in the World Heritage List of Telangana. This temple is a magnificent temple built in the shape of a star. This temple was built by Kakatiya king Rudradev in the 12th century. There are a thousand pillars in this temple, hence it is also called the Thousand Pillared Temple. The special thing about this temple is that the stones used to build it do not sink in water.
