UPSC Result 2023: Cutoffs reduced so much for the first time in 12 years, know how many marks for which category

UPSC released the result last Tuesday, in which Aditya Srivastava of Lucknow topped. Whereas, Animesh Pradhan got second rank and Donuru Ananya Reddy got third rank. Now UPSC has released the cutoff marks of the Prelims, Mains, and Final of the Civil Services Examination 2023. It is believed that this is the first time in almost 12 years that the cutoffs of UPSC Pre have fallen so low. The Commission issued a notice and gave this information.

What is the cutoff for a general category?

According to the issued notice, this time the cutoff for the general category in Civil Services Prelims is 75.41. At the same time, the cutoff for the EWS category is 98.02. At the same time, the cutoff marks for the OBC category have been 74.75 while for SC it has been 59.25, and for ST it has been 47.82. Whereas if we talk about the candidates of the physically handicapped category, then the cutoff for PwBD-1 is 40.40, PwBD-2 is 47.13, PwBD-3 is 40.40 and PwBD-5 is 33.68.

Lowest cutoff in 12 years

Regarding this cutoff, UPSC aspirant Kunal R. Virulkar also expressed his views on social media and said that the cut-off of Prelims in the UPSC Civil Services Exam is the lowest in the last 12 years.

So many cut-offs in mains and finals

If we talk about the cutoff of the Mains exam, then it is 741 for the General category, 706 for EWS, 712 for OBC, 694 for SC, 692 for ST. If we talk about disabled category candidates, the cutoff is 673 for PwBD-1, 718 for PwBD-2, 396 for PwBD-3 and 445 for PwBD-5.

At the same time, this time in the final exam, the cutoff marks were 953 for General category, 923 for EWS, 919 for OBC, 890 for SC, 891 for ST. Whereas, if we talk about physical disability candidates, the cutoff is 894 for PwBD-1, 930 for PwBD-2, 756 for PwBD-3 and 589 for PwBD-5.
