The Election Commission is all set to conduct the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 on 26 April. In this phase, voting will be held on 88 Lok Sabha seats in 13 states and union territories. Due to the election day i.e. tomorrow, all schools, colleges, universities and institutions will remain closed in Mathura, Noida, Ghaziabad, Mathura, Aligarh and 88 Lok Sabha constituencies across the country. The reason for this is that on the election day, schools and institutions are arranged as polling stations.
Voting is to be held in 7 phases
This year, voting is to be held in 7 phases which will be conducted over approximately 3 months. The first phase of elections in the country was held on April 19, on this day elections were held on 102 seats in 21 states including Arunachal, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. 13 seats in Rajasthan: Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota and Jhalawar-Baran.
14 seats in Karnataka: Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru North, Bengaluru Central, Bengaluru South, Udupi, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga, Tumkur, Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Chikballapur, and Kolar.
