GEMPL Introduces Ampere Nexus Electric Scooter in India, Starting at Rs 1.20 Lakh
Greaves Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd (GEMPL), the e-mobility arm of Greaves Cotton Limited, has launched Ampere Nexus, its first tech-loaded family electric scooter in India. A battery powered scooter for Rs. 1.09 lakh (ex-showroom) has been introduced at a starting price. The company has launched this vehicle in four attractive color options – Zanskar Aqua, Indian Red, Lunar White and Steel Grey. Interested customers can now pay Rs. One can pre-book the vehicle with a token amount of 9,999. Deliveries are likely to start from May.

The vehicle comes with an attractive design, featuring an attractive headlight setup, coupled with attractive LED DRls inside the unit. The newly launched e-scooter features a best-in-class hybrid swing arm with twin suspension. To give both the rider and the passenger a seamless riding experience, the company has included a single-seat unit with a decent length of 712 mm and a height of 765 mm. To make the two-wheeler the best in the segment, the company has also added a 7-inch TFT touchscreen supported by SmartSense technology. It allows the rider to monitor important information such as speed, battery capacity, range, time and riding model.
Suspension setup and safety
The all-new Ampere Nexus is equipped with telescopic forks at the front, while the rear is treated with shock absorbers. On the safety front, the vehicle comes with a disc brake at the front, and a drum brake at the rear. It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels as standard.
Battery and range
As per the details shared by the brand, the scooter uses a 3 kWh LFP battery pack and has a mid-mounted permanent magnet motor. It is claimed by the company that the e-scooter is capable of offering a decent range of 136 km on a single charge, and has a top speed of 93 kmph.
