Major accident in Canada, several vehicles collided, and 4 people including an Indian couple died
Four people, including an Indian couple and their three-month-old grandson, died in a horrific collision involving multiple vehicles in Canada’s Ontario province. The incident occurred when police were chasing a liquor store robbery suspect who was driving in the wrong direction.
Police said all four people died on the spot in the accident that occurred on NH-401 in Whitby, about 50 kilometers east of Toronto.
Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) said in a statement Thursday that two of the victims, a 60-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman, had come from India. The SIU did not release the names of the victims.
The statement said that the couple’s three-month-old grandson also died in the accident. Highway 401 was closed for several hours Monday due to the accident. The robbery suspect also died in this accident. The agency said that the 33-year-old father and 27-year-old mother of the child who lost their lives were in the same vehicle. Both have been taken to the hospital in injured condition.
