Maruti Suzuki Registers Patent For Poolkar, Charge Hub And Smart Charge Ahead Of First EV launch; What’s Cooking
Maruti Suzuki has recently filed patents for names like ‘Poolkar’, ‘Charge Hub’, and ‘Smart Charge’. These patents have triggered speculations about its upcoming products and services.
Maruti Suzuki, one of India’s largest automobile manufacturers, has been focused on its electric vehicle (EV) strategy, with plans to introduce its first electric car, eVX.
The patent filings suggest that Maruti Suzuki may be planning to establish its own charging infrastructure, potentially called Maruti Suzuki Charge Hub. While Maruti Suzuki has not officially confirmed these speculations, the move indicates a strategic shift towards electrification and the development of charging infrastructure.
Maruti Suzuki eVX
Maruti Suzuki showcased the eVX for the first time at the Auto Expo in January 2023. It was then showcased again at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 and was now displayed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 in Delhi. The Maruti Suzuki eVX will be the first electric car manufactured by the brand and it is expected that the eVX will be launched for the Indian market by the end of 2024. The eVX has also been spotted testing in India while being camouflaged.
Maruti Suzuki eVX – Battery & Range
Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming eVX is anticipated to be developed in collaboration with Toyota and will likely feature two battery pack options. The larger 60 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is expected to offer an impressive driving range of 550 km, while a smaller 48 kWh battery pack is anticipated to provide a range of 400 km.
