Previously, Pollard served as a batting coach for Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League. ECB’s main motive to bring Pollard into the T20I setup is to just utilize his experience of playing in the West Indies. Pollard has been the batting coach for Mumbai Indians since 2022 IPL edition, this is going to be the first time when Pollard is associated with any national team for a coaching job.
Before the marquee event, the English team defeated Pakistan in a bilateral T20I series by 2-0. The English team won the first and fourth T20I as the second and third T20I got washed out due to rain. England Skipper Jos Buttler was named as the Player of the series.
