Adobe brings AI Assistant to Reader and Acrobat: Here’s how it works

Adobe has introduced its new generative AI-powered assistant in Reader and Acrobat. Currently in beta, the new AI assistant is integrated into the Reader and Acrobat workflows.

The new AI assistant is capable of generating summaries and insights from long documents, answering questions, and clean information to be shared in emails, presentations, and reports.

The assistant brings the power of Generative AI to the masses. According to the company, the new assistant would help in unlocking new value from the information in over three trillion PDFs worldwide.

Adobe’s new AI assistant is based on the same AI and machine learning models that are the foundation for Acrobat Liquid Mode, a technology that allows responsive reading experiences for PDFs on mobile. The proprietary models from Adobe offer a deep understanding of PDF content adding to the quality and reliability of outputs generated by the AI assistant.

‘Generative AI offers the promise of more intelligent document experiences by transforming the information inside PDFs into actionable knowledge and professional-looking content,’ said Abhigyan Modi, senior vice president, Document Cloud, Adobe. ‘PDF is the de facto standard for the world’s most important documents, and the capabilities introduced today are just the beginning of the value AI Assistant will deliver through Reader and Acrobat applications and services,’ he added.
