Aadhaar Card: Deadline To Update Your Aadhaar For Free Ending Next Week, Here’s What To Do

All Aadhaar card holders have an update. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for free online updating of Aadhaar card details until March 14, 2024. If you are planning to update your Aadhaar Card documents, then this is the time now.

The authority had previously announced, “Due to the positive response from residents, the facility for document update shall continue to be free of cost through the myAadhaar portal from December 15, 2023, to March 14, 2024.” What are all the details that you can update and how? Aadhaar Card Update

You can update your name, address, and other details for free on UIDAI’s website. Alternatively, they can visit Common Services Centres (CSCs) for physical updating, which requires a fee of Rs 50. UIDAI has been urging residents to upload Proof of Identity and Proof of Address (PoI/PoA) documents to revalidate their demographic details, especially if their Aadhaar was issued 10 years ago and has never been updated since.

How to update your Aadhaar card details online

1. Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ and log in with your Aadhaar number.

2. Select the ‘proceed to update address’ option.

3. Enter the one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.

4. Click on ‘Document Update,’ and your existing details will be displayed.

5. Verify the details and click on the next hyperlink.

6. Choose Proof of Identity and Proof of Address documents from the dropdown list.

7. Upload your address proof.

8. Select the ‘Submit’ button and upload the required documents.

9. Your update request will be accepted once a 14-digit Update Request Number (URN) is generated.

How To Upload Your Address Proof For Aadhaar Card

1. Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/

2. Log in and select “Name/Gender/Date of Birth & Address Update,” then click on “Update Aadhaar Online.”

3. Select ‘address’ and click ‘Proceed to Update Aadhaar.’

4. Upload a scanned copy and enter the required demographic information.

This will be your last chance to update the documents for free online. After 14th March, it will cost Rs 50.
