Agniveer Bharti 2024: What is the salary of Agniveer in the army, and how much on martyrdom Agniveer Bharti 2024: Under the Agneepath scheme, Agniveers are recruited in the Indian Army for four years. There was a huge uproar after the statement of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday regarding this. He raised questions on the Agniveer Recruitment Scheme. In response to that, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the government provides a sum of Rs 1 crore to the family of Agniveers who are martyred during duty. Under the Agneepath scheme, Agniveers are recruited in the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy for four years of service including the training period. After four years of service, 25 percent of Agniveers are permanently recruited in the army.
How much salary do Agniveers get?
Agniveers get a package of about 4.76 lakh in the first year. It increases by about 6.92 lakh in the fourth year. Every Agniveer has to contribute 30 percent of his monthly salary as Seva Nidhi. The same amount is contributed by the government.
First-year – Rs 30 thousand per month
Second year – Rs 33,000 per month
Third year – Rs 36,500 per month
Fourth year – Rs 40,000 per month
30 percent of this salary will be deducted as Seva Nidhi. This means that when the salary is 30 thousand, Agniveer will get Rs 21,900 from it. In the second year, Rs 23100 is received in hand, in the third year Rs 25550 and in the fourth year Rs 28000 is received. The government will also contribute the same amount to Seva Nidhi.
Compensation to Agniveers on Martyrdom
Each Agniveer has a non-contributory life insurance cover of Rs 48 lakh. Also, an additional ex-gratia amount of Rs 44 lakh is provided in case of death during service. Apart from this, the family also receives the money deposited as a service fund.
Funds given by the army to martyred Agniveers –
If someone is injured during the 4 years of duty, then there is a provision to give his family the salary for the remaining years of duty in addition to the insurance money…
– Insurance – Rs 48 lakhs,
– Army Women Welfare Association – Rs 30,000,
– For the last rites – Rs 9000,
– Army Central Welfare Fund – Rs 8 lakhs,
– Ex-gratia – Rs 44 lakhs,
The army has signed a MoU with all the banks in which the salary accounts of Agniveers have been opened and those banks also insure the Agniveers who are martyred in the line of duty for free. This fund is also given to their families.
Different states also provide financial assistance to the families of the martyrs as announced by the government.
Compensation in case of disability during service
If any Agniveer becomes a victim of disability during service, then based on the percentage of disability determined by the medical officers, Compensation is received.
