Ahmedabad To Host Vegetarian Food Festival From March 8-10

In what is going to be the city’s first-ever food festival, Ahmedabad is all set to host vegetarian foodies in a culinary extravaganza spanning three days, in the month of March.

Between dates 8-10, visitors are all set to sample regional, pan-Indian and international vegetarian delicacies for lunch or dinner. With a nominal entry free of ₹50 or ₹100, visitors are free to sample dishes of their liking between 12pm and 10pm.

Expected to be attended by 500-600 people each day, the festival will also have live performances and cultural programs for guests to enjoy.

The festival will also have cooking demonstrations by chefs, where guests will have the opportunity to taste the dishes presented, as they also enjoy the scenic views of the Event Centre by the Sabarmati river. The space, which is commonly utilised for local and international cultural events, also has designated parking spaces, event halls and a lawn area where visitors can mingle with one another.

A first-time endeavour by the civic body’s health department, various celebrity chefs are also expected to grace the occasion.

The municipal corporation has not only begun working on three different themes to occupy the three pavilions, but have also invited various organisations and agencies to set up stalls at the festival.

With further details expected to be announced soon, the city has also hosted events of a smaller scale as a way to promote Sattvik cuisine, as well as other festival editions like Delhi’s Street Food Festival in the past.
