Anushka Sharma reveals Virat Kohli’s fitness SECRET in viral video, says ‘sleep is…’
Former India captain Virat Kohli is one the fittest cricketers in the world even at the age of 36. Last week, Kohli notched up his 81st international century and 30th Test ton as India hammered Australia by 295 runs in the first Test at Perth.
Ahead of the Pink Ball Test, a video of Kohli’s Bollywood star wife Anushka Sharma sharing her husband’s fitness secret went viral on social media. Anushka said the ‘secret’ to Kohli’s tremendous fitness is his ‘dedication’.
“Let me be very honest, Virat Kohli is very disciplined about his health and fitness. I think this is also happening in our film industry. You know every morning without fail, he is up doing cardio or off to his cricket practice. His diet is clean, no junk food or sugary drinks. Can you believe he has not had any butter chicken in the last 10 years? Sleep is non-negotiable for him, he makes sure he gets enough rest to ensure he is performing at his best. There is commitment to every aspect of his lifestyle. That’s what makes him not only a world-class athlete but an inspiration,” Anushka Sharma said in the video.

The discipline of Kohli has helped him come out of a rut that he faced in the Test matches at home against Bangladesh and New Zealand this season. Kohli bounced back after a low score in the first innings of the Perth Test with his 9th international hundred against Australia on their own turf.
He is now a couple of centuries short of breaking legendary Sir Donald Bradman’s massive record of 10 centuries against the same opposition away from home. The Royal Challengers Bangalore batter loves playing in Adelaide, the venue for the ‘Pink Ball Test’ against Australia starting on Friday.
India are 1-0 up in the five-match Test series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and need to make sure that they win the series by at least a 3-1 margin to book their berth in the World Test Championships 2025 final next year at Lord’s.
