AP Dhillon Says ‘I’m Safe, My People Are Safe’ After Firing Outside His Canada Home
AP Dhillon, a Punjabi artist, said that ‘he is safe’ following gunfire outside his home on Vancouver’s Victoria Island. According to reports, one of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s members, Rohit Godara, has admitted responsibility for the attack. On Tuesday, he took to his Instagram stories and wrote, “I’m safe. My people are safe. Thank you to everyone who reached out. Your support means everything.” Security around his house has beefed up ever since the firing incident video went viral.
Gangster Rohit Godara allegedly stated in a post that the shots were fired at two different areas in Canada – Woodbridge, Toronto, and Victoria Island. According to the purported post, AP Dhillon’s musical collab Salman Khan led to the firing outside this home. Along with threatening to kill the musician in the alleged post, the man claimed to be connected to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
AP Dhillon And Salman Khan’s ‘Old Money’ Collab
Rohit Godara claimed that the reason for the firing was that AP Dhillon had lately collaborated on a song video with actor Salman Khan. The song video, named ‘Old Money,’ paid homage to Indian action movies from the 1990s and was released at the beginning of August. The video, co-directed by Punjabi singer, marked his first attempt from behind the camera.
AP Dhillon is renowned for fusing Punjabi music with synth-pop from the 1980s. Thanks to hits like ‘Brown Munde,’ ‘Excuses,’ ‘Summer High,’ ‘With You,’ ‘Dil Nu,’ and ‘Insane,’ among others, his climb to fame has been rapid.
Lawrence Bishnoi Attacked Salman Khan’s Bandra Home
Notably, Salman’s home in Bandra, Mumbai, was attacked by two men riding a bike in April. A four-person team, which included a Mumbai Crime Branch officer, went to the actor’s home on June 4 to get statements from him along with his father Salim and his brother Arbaaz. They spent six hours questioning the two brothers.
The investigation found that Salman Khan was at home on the day of the firing and slept late after going to a party. The actor said in his statement that he was awakened by the sound of a bullet striking the balcony of his apartment.
