With the help of WhatsApp, you can make international calls. For this reason, cyber fraudsters sitting abroad make fraudulent calls through WhatsApp. If you ever receive a call from a country code other than +91, you should not pick up such a call.

Where to complain if fraud occurs?

DOT has launched the Sanchar Sahayata portal www.sancharsthi.gov.in for reporting cyber fraud cases. Where any cheated user can log in and complain. DoT has also advised not to share any information on calls coming from the +92 code.

Apart from this, the Department of Telecommunications has launched the ‘Know Your Mobile Connection’ facility to prevent cybercrime and financial fraud. You can check the information about the mobile number issued in your name by visiting www.sancharsthi.gov.in portal, if any number has been issued without your knowledge, you can also deactivate it.
