Bengaluru Techie Writes To Tim Cook After Apple Watch Helped Him With Mental Health Issues

Sharath Sreeram is a 25-year-old techie based out of Bengaluru. He used to work for a startup as an iOS developer. Young and ambitious – Sharath would give his all for work.

Least did he know that this would lead to some serious health issues. Extra hours at work, too much stress and a very unsupportive management had an impact on Sharath’s health. That’s when the Apple Watch came to his rescue and helped Sharath recover. He has now written to Apple CEO Tim Cook, calling Apple Watch the ‘most useful gadget he has ever purchased’.

Sharath told Times Now Tech that he was working at a major feature launch at this previous workplace which required long nights and weekends of work. The company management was also critical of the employees around the same time.

“They were very critical of our work and constantly berated our ideas and our hard work. Some other folks started quitting for this reason and the workload became more intensive because of lesser manpower and all this added to the stress I was feeling,” he said.

He would often come home exhausted and would have fever too. That’s when Sharath started getting alerts about his unusual heart rate on his Apple Watch. He shared the readings with his wife and the two of them consulted a General Physician with the Apple Watch heart rate readings and some ECG readings.
