Bennett University student murdered by friends after brawl, Noida police recover body from UP’s Gajraula
In a shocking case of murder, a student of a Noida-based university was allegedly murdered by his friends after a brawl in Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh.
Police now claim to have recovered the body of the victim, son of a businessman, from Gajraula in Amroha.
According to police, the accused buried his body in a field in Gajraula. The matter came to light after a search was mounted for the missing student identified as Yash Mittal.
Yash was reportedly missing from his hostel since February 26. Yash’s father later contacted Noida police after he got a ransom call demanding Rs 6 crore for the release of Yash.
Following the complaint, cops checked CCTV footage and found the victim leaving the university on Monday. Police also scanned Yash’s Call Detail Record (CDR) and stumbled upon one of his friends Rachit.
When police questioned Rachit, it was found that Yash would frequently hang out with his three other friends identified as Shubham, Sushant and Shivam.
According to Greater Noida DCP Saad Miyan Khan, Yash was called by his friends to Gajraula on February 26 for a party where a brawl broke out. The student was killed during the brawl and his friends buried his body in the field. The DCP said police recovered the body after identifying the location.
After the recovery of the body, the police also identified the other accused and arrested them from Dadri after an encounter as they attempted to escape. However, one of the accused, identified as Shubham, is absconding and will be arrested soon, a report in NDTV quoted the DCP as saying.
