Bill Gates Believes India Will Lead In AI Applications For Health And Agriculture
Microsoft co-founder and former CEO Bill Gates is currently on a tour of India. The billionaire is optimistic about the future of AI innovation in the country.
In an interview with ANI, Gates said that India can become a global leader in using AI to help people through applications in areas like health and agriculture.
“Well, there’s a lot of fantastic AI work going on in this country. Our foundation will be proud to help shape that and support it,” he said.
Gates believes that AI is the most game-changing technology. When speaking to students at IIT Delhi, he urged them to consider how their careers can steer AI innovation towards promoting equality and social good, instead of just focusing on financial gains.

Gates sees major potential for Indian innovation to address major global problems in health, agriculture, gender issues, and climate change. He told students that the world needs their ideas and creativity.
“The need for innovation to deal with many different challenges is greater than ever. You are all lucky to be here and have gotten an incredible education. The complexity of how we take technology and shape it, you will get an opportunity to play a big role there,” Business Insider quoted Bill Gates.
