BRS leader Kavitha threatens protest if Priyanka Gandhi attends state event
A day after Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy mentioned that All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi would be invited to inaugurate a state scheme, BRS MLC K Kavitha questioned about Gandhi’s rights and responsibilities to inaugurate a government programme.
Kavitha said that the BRS leaders would stage protests against Priyanka Gandhi attending and launching the Rs 500 gas cylinder scheme.
“So, we have a question from the Chief Minister, why Priyanka Gandhi is being called into a government program. She has never become an MP, MLA or even a Sarpanch. If she is a senior leader of the party, then she should be called to the party program,” the BRS leader said.
“But if you call her for any government program, we will protest against it. Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi are coming, we understand. But why is she being called?” Kavitha questioned.
Addressing a public meeting at Indravelli in Adilabad district, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the Congress was committed to implementing all the promises made to the people during the elections.
