The claim is available only for serious medical cases

EPFO provides an advanced medical claim facility for employees undergoing serious medical treatment or medical conditions. EPFO has clarified that this facility can be availed only during serious life-threatening illnesses.

This is applicable only if the employee or his/her spouse is admitted to a government public sector CGHS panel hospital. If the patient is admitted to a private hospital, the medical claim can be processed only after verification.
