Car That Can Float On Water: BYD Yangwang U8 Showcased At Geneva Motor Show
BYD’s high-end sub-brand, Yangwang has showcased the U8 SUV for the global audience at the Geneva Motor Show. This vehicle by the brand is claimed to have 1200 hp and is capable of floating on water.
The SUV was introduced by the brand back in 2023 and gained a lot of attention because of its unique capabilities. With the vehicle on display, the Chinese giant seems to be turning its focus on expansion in the European market.
Along with these luxury vehicles, BYD has also put on display the comparatively more affordable Seal electric sedan and the Tang EV. The Tang is one of the prime vehicles of the brand claiming to offer a range of 530 km on a single charge, and is aimed at the mass market.
Coming back to the Yangwang U8, the premium SUV of the brand comes with a plug-in hybrid system and is based on BYD’s e4 Platform. This is the world’s first mass-produced four-motor independent drive technology platform. It makes the SUV capable of performing a 360-degree tank turn. This is something similar to what we saw on the German Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV.
