In this, men and women can become officers in the army by getting training. This training program is for B.Tech students.
Till now, officers cadets were trained in OTA Gaya under only two courses, Technical Entry Scheme and Special Commission Officer. Now Short Service Commission Technical Training Course has also been started.
Women become military officers
Women military officers will also be trained in Gaya OTA. Currently, there are a total of 190 officer cadets under this course. There are also 21 women cadets in it. In the Technical Entry Scheme, inter-pass youth are selected, but in the Short Service Commission Technical Training Program, B.Tech students will get a chance to be selected for the post of officer in the army. This training course will be for about one year. With the start of this program, B.Tech students of Bihar will also get a lot of benefits.
Short Service Commission Technical Training Course
Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh Minhas of OTA Gaya informed that the Short Service Commission Technical Training Course has been started from 1st April. 190 Officer Cadets are taking training. By October, their number will increase to 450. The training of Short Service Technical Training Program will run from March to September and October to March. B.Tech students are given priority in this course. The average age of the Officer Cadets who are currently taking training is 23.5 years.
13 years journey of OTA
Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh Minhas said that OTA was started in Gaya on 18th July 2011. This year OTA will be 13 years old. In these 13 years, till now Technical Entry Scheme and Special Commission Officers were being trained. But from this time Short Service Commission Technical Training Course has also been started. It is expected that B.Tech students of Bihar and Gaya district will take advantage of this and become officers in the army. At present, 450 officers are being trained in Gaya OTA, including all the courses. By October, their number will cross 600 and will reach 750 in a few months.
