CBSE Issues Clarification, Says No Change In Existing Curriculum Or Textbooks Except For Class 3 and 6

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday issued clarification and said for all classes other than 3 and 6, there is no change to the existing curriculum or textbooks. The board added that Schools are once again instructed to continue using the same textbooks for these classes as they did in the previous academic year (2023-24).
“To allay any misgivings and for greater clarity, it is reiterated that for all classes other than 3 and 6, there is no change to the existing curriculum or textbooks. Schools are once again instructed to continue using the same textbooks for these classes as they did in the previous academic year (2023-24),” the CBSE said in a statement.

Earlier in March, the board had directed all affiliated schools to follow the new syllabi and textbooks for classes 3 and 6 being released by NCERT. In a notification, the board directed schools to use new textbooks published by NCERT till 2023.
“The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has informed CBSE through a letter dated 18.03.2024 that new syllabi and textbooks for Grades 3 and 6 are currently under development and will soon be released. Consequently, schools are advised to follow these new syllabi and textbooks for classes 3 and 6 in place of textbooks published by NCERT till the year 2023,” the CBSE said in statement.
