Chamoli-Badrinath Highway Blocked Due to Falling Debris, Rainfall Alert in Many Districts

Chamoli: Heavy rain lashed several parts of Uttarakhand on Saturday. The rainwater caused boulders to slide down onto the road, resulting in the blockage of the Chamoli-Badrinath National Highway on Sunday. There were no reports of any casualties or injuries in the incident. Authorities are making efforts to clear the road.

IMD Weather Alert For Uttarakhand

IMD has issued a Red alert for heavy rains in Kumaon, Chamoli, Pauri, and Rudraprayag districts. The weather department also issued an Orange alert for other districts of the state.

Over 200 Roads Blocked In Uttarakhand

Following recent intense rainfall that has led to the obstruction of more than 200 roads, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued a directive to the District Magistrate to stay alert.

NDRF And SDRF On Alert

With residents living close to streams affected, help is on the way in the form of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), who are actively supporting these communities.
