Cooking Up A Storm With Kusha Kapila: ‘My All-Time Favourite Dish Is My Mom’s DOSA,’ Reveals Instagram Influencer

Have you ever met anyone who likes to eat octopus? Well, Instagram influencer Kusha Kapila does. A digital creator with massive 3.5 million followers and a careful eater, shares her diet and more.

My dietary preference: I am basically a non-vegetarian, but I love vegetarian food equally. My all-time favorite is my mom’s dosa, and I love love love salads.

The first thing I have when I wake up is: Cold coffee.

My breakfast is: Anda bhurji or a smoothie.

My lunch is: Ragi roti, any seasonal veggie, and pickle.

In the evenings, I snack on: Ragi chips and dips or sevpuri or a fruit.

My dinner is: A veggie soup and methi chicken.

My favorite dessert is: Tres leches.

My fitness regime: Strength training under my trusted trainer, Mudassar. I follow what he says blindly. It’s a mix of strength, cardio, and we are slowly building up to weight training. Ever since I have shifted to Mumbai, I take long walks regularly — 1.5 or 2 hours.

Before my workout, I have: An apple.

After my workout, I usually have: My dinner.

Foods I avoid: Sugar and milk.

My favorite restaurants: In Mumbai, Tanjore Tiffin, Izumi, Farmer cafe, and Koishii. In Delhi, I like to eat at TK’s Grill, Pings, Bhawan, but nothing beats my mom’s food.

My idea of a romantic meal: By the beach is my dream location, and I’d love to have a yummy, colorful salad and salmon maybe. Alternatively, Japanese cuisine is another favorite.

One thing I can make very well is: Kada prasad.

My favorite cooks in my family are my mother and my chachi: They make the best rajma chawal, neembu meat, bhalla papdi, chole bhature, dosa, gajar ka halwa, patra, khandvi, methi chicken, baingan ka bharta, and poori aloo. There is excellent food at home.
