CUET UG 2024: Marking policy changed in CUET UG and UGC NET, now normalization will not happen…
CUET UG 2024: There is the latest update regarding CUET UG 2024 and UGC NET exam. UGC Chairman Professor M Jagadish Kumar has said that the normalization of marks in the CUET and UGC NET examinations is being abolished this year. Professor M Jagadish Kumar told PTI that there will be no need for normalization of marks this year as both exams for one subject will be conducted in the same shift. Let us tell you that this time the mode of UGC examination has also changed. This time this exam will be on OMR sheet.
The UGC chairman said that earlier the examination had to be conducted for two or three days for the same paper in an attempt to provide the center of first choice to the students. But this year, with the adoption of OMR mode, a large number of centers will become available in schools and colleges. Due to this examinations can be conducted across the country in a single day.
What is normalization?
When the examination of the same subject is conducted in multiple shifts, there may be a difference in the difficulty level of questions in the question papers of the candidates.
Due to this, it is possible that some candidates may get more marks and some may get less. To overcome this problem and ensure fairness in the examination, normalization of marks is done based on percentage scores.
In CUET UG, the examination of 48 subjects is online.
CUET UG exam will be conducted from May 15 to May 24. THE CUET UG schedule has been released. The examination for admission in 15 subjects will be conducted in pen-paper mode. Whereas, for 48 subjects it will be conducted in online mode.
