Death was coming for Israel PM Netanyahu from 2200km, IDF acted in time and then….
Yemen: Only a few days back, Israel and Iran-backed Hamas signed a ceasefire agreement mediated by the United States of America, but here’s a news update that will take you by surprise. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has consistently repeated his aim of destroying Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, came under threat last week when Yemen’s Houthi rebels planned an attack on him. Located about 2200 kilometers away, Yemen’s Houthi rebels attacked a “specific target” in central Israel with a ballistic hypersonic missile, as per a report by the Navbharat Times.
Yahya Sari, a representative from the Houthi group, recently confirmed a successful attack on a key location in the heart of Israel. This was accomplished using a hypersonic ballistic missile. Though he marked the operation a successful hit, he maintained an air of mystery by not revealing any specifics about the target. Underlining their determination, Sari has committed to persist with the missile and drone attacks until Israel calls off its actions in Gaza and terminates the blockade.
Response from IDF
Implying the occurrence of an unprecedented event, Israel’s national broadcasting network, KAN, revealed that a missile launched from Yemen was effectively intercepted by an air defense system. Focusing more on this incident, the Israeli army confirmed their successful attempt at nipping a ballistic missile from Yemen in the bud, thwarting its advance into Israel’s airspace.
Israel’s Netanyahu says Lebanon ceasefire does not mean war is over
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday (December 3) that Israel was committed to its ceasefire deal with Hezbollah, but warned that it did not mean the war was over.
Speaking at the start of a cabinet meeting in the northern border city of Nahariya, Netanyahu said Hezbollah had seriously violated the accord on Monday and that Israel had subsequently attacked more than 20 targets across Lebanon in retaliation.
“We are currently in a ceasefire, I note, a ceasefire, not the end of the war,” he said. “We have a clear goal to return the residents, to rehabilitate the north. We are enforcing this ceasefire with an iron fist, acting against any violation, minor or serious.”
“We are committed to a ceasefire, but we will not tolerate ceasefire violations by the other side. I also say here in the clearest possible terms: We will not return to the situation that was on October 6. No trickles, no slurs, nothing. The north will be quiet, the north will prosper, the north will flourish, and the north will be safe”, he added.
